Machine Set-Up Technician FCA Packaging - 3.4 Tonawanda, NY Job Details Full-time $19 - $20 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Machine operation Manufacturing facility Attention to detail Hand tools Mechanical knowledge Time management Full Job Description Position Summary We are currently hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Set-Up Technician to support our production operations. This position plays a key role in preparing wirebound manufacturing equipment for production by completing machine changeovers, adjustments, and setup tasks efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and works well independently or with a small team. Primary Responsibilities Complete machine changeovers and equipment setups within scheduled production timelines Adjust and prepare machinery according to production specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM) Verify machines are properly calibrated and operating efficiently before production runs begin Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Ensure setups meet quality standards, blueprint specifications, and first-piece approval requirements Work collaboratively with team members and production staff to maintain workflow and minimize downtime Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues during setup and make necessary adjustments Assist with maintaining production efficiency during schedule or job changes Qualifications Experience using basic hand tools such as pliers, hammers, and tape measures Familiarity with pneumatic and power tools including drills, nail guns, and staple guns Basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems preferred Strong math skills including fractions, decimals, measurements, and tolerances Ability to read blueprints and production specifications accurately Prior machine operation or manufacturing experience is preferred Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Desired Skills & Attributes Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment Dependable attendance and reliable transportation required Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexible and adaptable when production priorities shift Ability to identify and respond to equipment or setup issues quickly Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production demands Work Environment This role involves working in a manufacturing setting around moving machinery and equipment. Candidates must follow all company safety standards and use required protective equipment at all times.
