Job Description

Position Summary:
The Machine Operator in the Spinning Department will operate spinning machinery, inspect finished parts, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures to maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Pay Range:
 $19.07-$23.70
Key Responsibilities:
Operate spinning machine with a focus on maintaining the visual and dimensional quality of parts. Verify dimensions of finished parts using gages, micrometers, and calipers. Observe machine performance, identify failures or out-of-spec parts, stop the machine when necessary, and notify the supervisor and relevant personnel. Clean the spinner work center, including disposing of and recording scrap parts in the Plex system, removing trash, and organizing materials. Maintain cleanliness of gage carts, wipe off excessive oil and coolant, and mop floors. Perform 5S/housekeeping tasks, including cleaning the exterior of spinning enclosures and electrical cabinets when the work center is down. Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) charting to monitor product quality. Collaborate with the supervisor, technicians, and quality inspectors to ensure customer-driven and product-driven standards are met. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental goals and customer requirements.
Capabilities:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills. Aptitude in math and mechanical processes.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical processes. Proficiency in basic math and SPC techniques. Experience with gages, micrometers, and calipers. Basic blueprint reading.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate lifting (5-10 pounds occasionally; 25-50 pounds seldomly).
