Retort Filler operator
Reports To:
Production Supervisor Position Summary:
To work the production schedule, control Filler speeds and the flow of the production plant, monitor and operate X-ray machine and maintain fill operations in accordance with
HACCP/SQF/SGFM
programs and procedures. Change out Jar Inverter to specific Jar being used.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working knowledge of the touch screen to operate appropriate equipment. Record container weight, metal detector, fill temps, container counts, downtime recording. Equipment set up of PC table settings, filler change parts/filler height/volume, temperature chart, metal detector set up, bottle sanitizer and Carleton twist. Conduct allergen cleans in accordance with our SQF/HACCP/sanitizing procedures. Verify jar quality and remove and report any jar defects. Communicate constantly with the proper personal about production operations within the job description. Ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking. Observe and report filler temperatures at all times. Clean filler parts before placing back in COP room during changeovers. Build a team environment within the immediate work area and throughout the SGFM organization. Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP's/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls. Participate in the SGFM training program which includes training all employees in your immediate work area. Monitor and operate if needed the X-ray machine. All other necessary duties as assigned by Supervisor "In the absence of an employee for this position, the management team will delegate the responsibilities to the remaining staff to ensure that all food safety & quality responsibilities are fulfilled." Requirements Necessary to
Perform This Job Function:
(Educational & Physical) High school diploma or GED preferred. Frequent lifting of material up to and including 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull materials in excess of 200 pounds. Frequently required to stand, walk and bend Manual dexterity with ability to reach with hands and arms Basic mathematic and reading skills Regularly required to talk, hear and see. Able to read and write English fluently Climbing ladders and stairs often Able to work in both hot/humid (in excess of 110 degrees F) and cold (below -20 degrees F) environments
