6am-630pm $20.35 Job Description The Packaging Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors automated packaging line equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures products are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently while complying with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The position also supports equipment troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement activities to maintain high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Operate and closely monitor packaging line equipment to ensure consistent, efficient, and safe production. Perform inspection of products and packaging components to verify quality and compliance with specifications. Carry out hand cartoning or packing, labeling, palletizing, cleanup, and hopper filling as part of the packaging process. Assist with line clearances between batches and during changeovers, following cleanup sheet directions and established procedures. Support troubleshooting of equipment and process issues by identifying basic mechanical or operational problems and escalating as needed. Maintain accurate, complete, and error-free records, including Line Packaging Records (LPR), and ensure all documentation meets cGMP and SOP requirements. Follow all production documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) during every step of the operation. Continuously monitor operations for deviations, quality risks, or mechanical problems and promptly report or escalate issues to appropriate personnel. Identify and suggest improvements in safety, product quality, and operational efficiency to support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to department safety rules and housekeeping standards. Attend scheduled trainings and complete all required annual training to stay current with procedures, safety, and compliance requirements. Perform duties in other work areas as needed to support overall production goals and team needs. Essential Skills High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in manufacturing operations or packaging, preferably in a GMP-regulated facility. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely disassemble and reassemble equipment as required for operation and basic adjustments. Basic reading comprehension skills to follow technical instructions, SOPs, and production documents accurately. Basic math skills to perform LPR calculations and other routine production-related calculations. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. High attention to detail with the ability to manage diverse tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality. Ability to lift materials up to 35 lbs. as needed to support packaging and material handling activities. Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including white zone gowning and various respirators (½ face, 3M hood, full face, dust mask). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
