Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an Inserter Operator for a temporary opportunity in Columbus, OH. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined production professional who enjoys working with high-speed equipment, maintaining accuracy, and contributing to a fast-paced warehouse and printing operation. The Inserter Operator will operate and assist with Kern 3500/3600 high-speed inserting machines and related mailing equipment. This position offers a structured weekday schedule, hands-on machine operation, and the opportunity to build valuable experience in mail production, print operations, and automated inserting equipment. Candidates who are detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment will be well positioned for success. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and learn Kern 3500/3600 high-speed inserting machines and related peripheral mailing equipment.
  • Set up machine functions, including document alignment, sensors, insert stations, envelopes, and double-detection controls according to job and state specifications.
  • Troubleshoot jams, minimize downtime, and perform operator-level machine adjustments to maintain production flow.
  • Monitor print quality, product accuracy, mail piece integrity, and machine performance throughout the shift.
  • Follow mail processing procedures, tray sorting requirements, quality checks, and USPS standards.
  • Support production goals of 10,000 or more mail pieces per hour while maintaining a fail rate of less than 1%. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay rate: $18.50 per hour.
  • Schedule:
    Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • Job type: Contract/Temporary.
