Your Role in Synergy's Success Position Summary The Filler Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the filler of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product is clean and sterile. This position requires the ability to work with allergens. How You Will Contribute Job Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor production filler equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity to customer standards and specifications.
  • Monitor weights, seals, caps, leak testing and general packaging of product.
  • Safely and efficiently set up, operate and clean filler machines/equipment as assigned.
  • Be proficient in Clean-in-Place (CIP) of assigned filler machine.
  • Perform basic clean, inspect and lube functions including basic Preventative Maintenance (PMs).
  • Adjust filler timing and filling, & check materials as needed.
  • Actively participate in startup, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset and shutdown of line equipment; clearing jams and reporting malfunctions to Supervisor as needed.
  • Perform changeovers and line clears; accurately setting up next item's packaging and coding.
  • Report out-of-standard/specification results to the Quality Department and Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the proper packaging materials, artwork, and lot/dates are used for each product being produced.
  • Complete handwritten instructions and on-line documentation including Quality and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks accurately and at the required frequencies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed work logs and inventory records.
  • Monitor and review inventory and production levels to achieve the most efficient operating conditions.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain assigned work area and production environment in a clean orderly condition; completing environmental cleaning requirements as needed.
  • Actively participate in shift exchanges and work team meetings.
  • Consistently meet production needs and goals while making efforts to minimize product shrink and downtime.
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, safe chemical handling, safe forklift operation, and Lock Out Tag Out.
  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
  • Contribute to team capability by reinforcing standard work and guiding operators on filler equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production.
  • Report unsafe conditions or other compliance issues to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Safety Protocol o Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
o Correct or report any observed safety hazards. o Support safety policies and programs.
