Job Description

Machine Operator - 3rd
Shift Location:
Lebanon, OH 3rd
Shift Pay:
$18.25 3rd
Shift:
Sunday - Thursday, 10:55pm-7am •You will train on 1st shift for the first couple of weeks.
Training Shift:
Monday - Friday, 6:55am-3pm
Training Pay:
$16.75/hr A Machine Operator at JBM Packaging is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment used to produce items such as envelopes and seed packets. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are accurately produced, filled, sealed, and prepared to meet quality and production standards. Success in this position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging equipment (including W&D web machines) to meet production, quality, and safety standards
Production Monitoring:
Ensure finished products meet specifications outlined in manufacturing orders
Quality Control:
Inspect machinery and finished products to maintain consistent quality and identify defects
Machine Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor adjustments to ensure optimal performance
Documentation:
Accurately complete production paperwork and input data into systems (e.g., tablets)
Workflow Coordination:
Organize materials, labels, and packaging while maintaining a clean and efficient work area
Key Requirements:
Mechanical Aptitude:
Ability to identify and resolve basic machine issues (e.g., material misalignment, feeding issues)
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8-hour shifts), lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs regularly
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
Soft Skills:
Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment

Training:
On-the-job training provided, including structured programs (such as a three-week training course) to support operator development
Environment:
Fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on safety, efficiency, and teamwork
