Job Title:
Machine Operator | 1st Shift | $20+HR Job Description The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors coating equipment to ensure high-quality production of metal products. This role prepares and adds coatings to machines, observes production processes for accuracy, and records operational data to support efficient and consistent manufacturing. Responsibilities Select, weigh, measure, and prepare coatings according to specifications and add them to the appropriate machines. Set up and operate coating machines to apply coatings to products in accordance with production requirements. Observe machine gauges, equipment, and product output to detect defects or deviations from standards and make necessary adjustments. Record operational data and production information on specified forms or documentation systems. Apply knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and manufacturing techniques to maximize efficiency and product quality. Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while working on the production floor. Participate in training on a rotating 12-hour schedule and adapt to the required shift structure. Essential Skills Proven machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to make independent decisions while operating equipment and handling production tasks. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to stand for long periods of time during 12-hour shifts. Strong attention to detail when monitoring gauges, equipment, and product quality. Basic understanding of production processes and the use of raw materials in manufacturing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous coating or printing experience is a plus. Tow motor (forklift) experience is a plus. Comfort working with forms and documentation to record operational data. Willingness to complete initial training Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for two weeks. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a typical manufacturing setting that includes a warehouse, machine floor, and active production of coils and related metal products. The facility is temperature-controlled and organized, with coating machines and other production equipment in regular use. The position follows a 1st shift 12-hour rotating schedule from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with an initial two-week training period scheduled Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work requires standing for extended periods on the production floor and safely navigating around machinery and materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parma, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
