West Troy is currently recruiting for two machine operators for first shift.
Position Summary:
We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operators to join our production team. The primary responsibility is to operate fabrication machinery to cut, bend and curl sheet metal, and to efficiently transfer materials between operations. Operation will include robotic assistance with movement and placement of material.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Set up and operate machinery to fabricate metal parts according to work orders and verbal instructions.
Material Handling:
Manually move sheet metal from raw material inventory to machines, and transfer work-in-process (WIP) parts to the next workstation safely.
Quality Inspection:
Visually inspect material to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Safety Adherence:
Strictly follow safety protocols, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like heavy-duty gloves, safety glasses, and other required equipment.
Machine Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and clearing metal scraps to ensure optimal operation.
Workflow Coordination:
Ensure a steady flow of materials between cutting, forming, and assembly stations to meet daily production quotas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Physical Strength & Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for long periods, and handle heavy, awkward sheets of metal.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Experience operating or setting up metal fabrication machines.
Math Skills:
Basic mathematics skills for reading measurements and calculating material needs. Attention to
Detail:
Strong focus on quality and safety.
Experience:
Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience is preferred. Experience working with robots preferred. Forklift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and kneel or crouch. Frequent handling of materials with sharp edges.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
