Full Job Description Required Skills and Experience:
High attention to detail and good with numbers, job entails a significant amount of verifying measurements, calibrating machines, and tracking/recording part numbers, order numbers, and coil numbers. Accuracy is essential. 5 years forklift experience 5 years sheet metal experience
Employer Notes:
  • Consistent and on time attendance to shift is very important.
  • Typical Schedule will be Monday through Friday from 6:00 am (5am when we're busy)
  • 3:30 p.
m. Overtime including some Saturdays (not a lot) may be needed based on work load.
Job Duties:
  • Setup and operate machines, press brakes, shears, punches, etc.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools including hand drill, chop-saw, screw gun, and steel bander
  • Use forklift to unload/load steel coils and steel products
  • Reference work instructions and review print specifications to determine proper materials and machine set-up and/or adjustment to accomplish production requirements.
  • Set, position, align and secure punches and dies, making all necessary machine adjustments to accomplish production goals and produce quality parts according to specifications.
  • Inspect and confirm accuracy of first production piece and at subsequent intervals using a variety of measuring instruments, digital, dial, radius, tape measure and fixtures.
  • Observe machine to detect malfunctions and work with production personnel, other operators, supervisor and/or maintenance staff to troubleshoot problems.
  • Move parts, components, and finished goods and position heavy dies manually or with work aids.
  • Stack/lift HEAVY steel beams,
  • Track and dispose of scrap, communicate with Inventory Control Specialist to ensure all scrap is accounted for until disposal.
  • Fill out paperwork for work orders, inventory, bill of lading, etc.
  • Interact with customers when they are on-site.
  • Use correct PPE and meet safety standards
