Job Title:
Set-Up Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Set-Up Technician for our swing shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Training will occur on the day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. This role is essential to supporting our injection molding process through tooling set-ups, machine preparation, and quality monitoring. Responsibilities Conduct tooling set-ups, including tool installation, machine preparation, and barrel cleaning to support the injection molding process. Distribute materials for molding operations and assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues. Monitor product quality and process productivity. Perform equipment set-ups, including installing injection molds and ensuring equipment generates quality parts. Adjust machine parameters to correct production defects. Collaborate with process engineering for process improvement, optimization, and engineering tests. Collect and enter data to support documented procedures. Handle robot programming and optimization. Conduct barrel and grinder cleaning. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools such as socket wrenches and allen wrenches. Basic to moderate computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office. Experience in machine operation and set-up. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 100 lbs with assistance. Good communication skills with the ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions in English. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hand and power tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong time management skills. Experience with human-machine interfaces (HMI) is a plus. Experience with plastics injection molding is an advantage. Awareness of occupational hazards and adherence to safety precautions. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is within an Injection Metal Molding company with a manufacturing floor that is densely equipped with molding machines. A strong focus on safety is maintained, and the work requires regular standing, walking, and the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and bump caps. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
