The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality metal and sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure products meet strict quality standards. The CNC Laser Operator will collaborate with other fabrication and machining specialists to support efficient production workflows and uphold safety protocols.

Shift:

First, Second, or Third Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment according to specifications. Program CNC laser equipment using CAD/CAM software, incorporating GD&T standards for precise fabrication. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine cutting parameters and tooling requirements. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery, including plasma cutting, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools. Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for various fabrication tasks involving sheet metal and other materials. Operate forklifts, cranes, or hand tools as needed for material handling and machine setup. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards related to welding, machining, and fabrication processes. Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring components meet quality specifications before final inspection. Skills Proficiency in CNC laser cutting programming and operation with experience in CAD/CAM software. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawing interpretation. Knowledge of various manufacturing processes including plasma cutting, welding, electrical discharge machining, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and fabrication techniques. Ability to operate hand tools, tooling equipment, cranes, forklifts, and other material handling machinery safely. Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual inspection techniques. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on safety compliance and continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently while maintaining production flow.
