Job Description

Job Title:
Laser Machine Operator - 2nd Shift Job Description The Laser Machine Operator on 2nd shift operates laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components used in power distribution systems. This role sets up and runs laser or CNC machinery, monitors quality throughout production, and follows strict safety and quality standards in a clean, steady-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components according to production specifications and quality standards. Set up laser or CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting appropriate programs, and adjusting settings as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate part dimensions and features. Use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to verify part dimensions and maintain tight tolerances. Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting on laser and CNC equipment to resolve minor issues and maintain smooth operation. Handle hand tools and power tools safely to support mechanical and electronic assembly tasks as required. Support mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly work, including soldering, electrical wiring, circuit board work, harness assembly, crimping, and related tasks when needed. Inspect parts visually and dimensionally, paying close attention to detail and quality throughout the production process. Work with sheet metal fabrication processes and components in a manufacturing or production environment. Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards at all times. Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a clean overall production environment. Work at a steady pace on 2nd shift to meet production goals and deadlines. Essential Skills 1-2 years of laser operating or CNC machining experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Experience with hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly environment. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with CNC programming or machine setup. Experience in mechanical assembly and electronic assembly. Experience with soldering, electrical assembly, electrical wiring, circuit boards, wiring, harness assembly, and crimping. Comfort working with tools related to mechanical, electrical, and electronic tasks. Ability to work independently on 2nd shift while collaborating effectively with the production team. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean manufacturing environment where employees work at a steady, consistent pace throughout the shift. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Team members work with laser cutting equipment, CNC machinery, sheet metal, and standard hand and power tools in a production setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and quality. The dress code requires long pants, such as jeans or khakis, appropriate for a manufacturing floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
