Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set valves and pipes to ensure liquor is properly pumped from holding tanks to presses. Enter information into inventory system. Verify proper cocoa kibble silo has been opened for solids. Set control panel on each press. Ensure liquor is properly heated to ensure smooth flow into presses. Monitor press system verifying cocoa cakes are dropping at the end of each press cycle. Inspect the cake for size and consistency. Check screens on the presses to ensure liquor is not leaking and flowing into the cocoa butter holding tank. Perform preventative maintenance on the press system. Lubricate press pots, columns, tie rods, replace felts and screens. Perform troubleshooting and light mechanical tasks on presses. Monitor all shutdowns and start-ups to ensure all systems are functioning correctly. Follow up on system alarms and perform corrective action to resolve issues involving maintenance, supervisors and safety. Report any foreign objects, defective materials, and missing or damaged tools to the Supervisor Perform assigned raw material inventory counts and record findings in system Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Ensure critical control point compliance documenting US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; Report any non-conformities Rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be needed Collaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout production cycle Pick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (Maintaining clean work areas, etc.) Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach Occasionally ascend/descend stairs Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds Constantly operate within a manufacturing product environment
  • daily exposure to noise, dust and variation in temperature (hot/cold)

Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sources Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards Adhere to
FDA HACCP
guidelines Adhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturers Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct
Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
