Description:
Custom Engineering Co. is a premier single source supplier specializing in the manufacturing of large-scale metal fabrications. We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Full-time Machine Operator with experience in the steel industry to join our team at our Erie, PA location. The position offers an hourly rate of up to $22.00 BOE ($2.00 2nd shift differential) and the benefits shown below. MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
(Included, but not limited to) Set up and remove work pieces from a machine per procedure Proficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified tolerances Ability to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as required Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes Study blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work procedures Ability to recognize tooling types -- facemill, drill, taps, etc.
Requirements:
Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and calculate tooling speeds/feeds Prior machining experience Knowledge in general machining practices Crane and forklift experience Ability to read and understand documents and blueprints Ability to use hand tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, tape measure, etc.) Ability to lift 50 pounds to insert tooling, materials, and use lifting devices Compensation details: 17-20 Hourly Wage
