Job Description

FRANKLIN INDUSTRIES
is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and the ability to operate various press machines and straightener machines effectively. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Press/Straightener Operator is responsible for overseeing all tasks pertaining to the safe and efficient operation of, but not limited to, the 800, 756, 750, 600, 400, 250, any 90-ton presses. As well as the safe and efficient operation of all pointers, shears, saws, straighteners, and positions on the paint line. The Press/Straightener operator is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding the production goals set forth by management. They are also the lead of the group working on that piece of equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all work instructions Follow all safety instructions Operate machinery safely and efficiently Taper channel posts as necessary by work order requirements Stacking and accurately counting of all production Accurate completion of work orders Accurate record keeping of production and failed equipment/tooling Keep an organized and clean work area Examine product and ensure it meets quality standards Load and unload material into/out of equipment Basic troubleshooting when necessary Willing to work in other departments throughout FI as needed Operates overheadjib crane as needed Train or assist in training new employees Any additional tasks set forth from management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS HSD/GED
is highly preferred but not required 6 months experience in a manufacturing position is highly preferred General mathematics including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, and multiplication Some mechanical knowledge is highly preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a safety-sensitive position; you will be around and/or operating heavy machinery Mechanical parts and vibrations Deals with some liquids/chemicals Both indoors and outdoors
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret safety and work procedures is a must Ability to follow work procedures and instructions both written and verbal is required. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are needed. Ability to collaborate well with other team members, performing work in a safe manner Thorough and good communication is a necessity Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to keep up in a fast paced work environment Ability to work well both individually and in a team environment Must have attention to detail
EXPECTED HOURS
  • Between 40 and 58 per week
TYPICAL SCHEDULE 6 AM
  • 4 PM
  • Mon-Fri 6 AM
  • 2 PM on Saturdays (as needed)
STARTING PAY
  • Typically $18.00
  • 21.
00/hour, commensurate with experience. (OT is paid at 1.5x pay after 40 hours). New employees are eligible for merit raises and more cross training opportunities after passing their 90-day probationary period.
