We are seeking a Machine Operator (Lathe & Saw Operator) to join our team! This position will set up and operate lathes and saws using proper procedures as outlined on computed program. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and experienced with measuring devices. This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are 3 rd
SHIFT:
Sunday, 10 PM
- 6 AM, Monday
- Thursday, 8:30 PM
- 6 AM Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned. Set-up equipment using computed program in accordance with orders Enter program number from routing sheet Check material for proper size Replace worn cutting inserts and/or tooling Check program for latest revision and approval Transfer ASME code markings as specified Perform minor maintenance Change consumables, clean machines, and monitor fluid levels Complete quality checks as required Recommend ordering tooling and consumables Attend all required meetings Required to fill out job cards, data sheets and reports accurately and legibly Follow program sequence in operation Check reference to align table relative to specific tooling required as computed program specifies. Select tooling required as computed program specifics. Set clamps as required Inserting proper gauge and cut of steel, which is precut to comply with order. Keep alert on panel reading of controls for interference of clamps, tooling, etc. Moves material in and out of department as required May be required to operate powered truck and/or hand truck, if licensed Refers unusual problems to supervisor Workstation must be kept clean and organized Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lessor rated labor grades
Qualifications/Requirements:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to read blueprints Experience with measuring devices
