Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operations Technician will support both quality and operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Participate in the installation, operation and training of new equipment for processing and packaging. Maintains technical equipment in support of operations, such as coders, tape machines, labelers, etc. Maintains technical data on information technology, processing equipment and the general plant programming through close coordination with internal maintenance staff and third-party contractors. Handles company IT issues. Operates processing and/or packaging equipment. Conducts raw material, environmental, and finished product testing. Participates in identifying and analyzing issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products. Assists the VP with BOLs and shipping/receiving appointments in times of VP absence. Performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent in this position will be positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues. Incumbents are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. Supports audit functions as needed. Maintains compliance with federal, state, local and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines and policies. Responsible for compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements. Assists management with administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a field related to the products being developed preferred. Three to five years of experience in related field required with food safety and quality experience in manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, bending in an office and production environment. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
