Job Description

SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate an automated plating line. The production of loading and unloading of plating racks; packaging plated parts and work from detailed instructions regarding the input of proper programming for the control of the automated processing. Work closely with Lab Technician to maintain standards in both the chemical and treatment applications with the plating system. Package plated product into provided dunnage and/or containers. Visually inspect parts to verify conformity to quality requirements. Check plating thickness at established frequencies. Perform plating adhesion tests as needed. Waste-Water Treatment - Perform a variety of tasks to assure proper operation of the waste-water treatment facilities. This will include waste-water treatment duties that effect the cleaning and maintenance as stated in the work instructions. The job requires this candidate to prepare orders to both arrival and departure with proper identification and packaging. This includes preliminary procedures within the neighboring cells (e.g. from the Mill, Detail, Foundry or Forge) to ensure no contamination exists. Knowledge and skill in operation of straighteners, cleaners, and sanders required. Requires working closely with Lab Technician to maintain standards in both the chemical and treatment applications with the plating system. Responsible for daily checks to verify system is operating to standard and to inform Lab Technician of any discrepancies. Assist maintenance in problem detection and remedy. Inventory control is vital; work with computers as needed and the utilization of bar coding along with other technology available to increase the efficiency of the process. Responsibility will include the process of cleaning the membrane as well as transfer chemicals from barrels received to smaller tanks as necessary The job requires this candidate to prepare orders to both arrival and departure with proper identification and packaging. This includes preliminary procedures within the neighboring cells (e.g. from the Mill, Detail, Foundry or Forge) to ensure no contamination exists. Knowledge and skill in operation of straighteners, cleaners, and sanders required.
PREREQUISITES
This will include specialized training in working with chemicals, waste-water treatment, and machines associated with this area of operation. College education desired but not a prerequisite. Familiarity with Microsoft Office will help as this job requires working with spreadsheets and other computerized functions. The test will include computer knowledge and a variety of mathematical problem solving. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six to twelve months related experience and/or training.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Detect quantity discrepancies, defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision. Will complete data transactions where necessary. Perform changing lubrication, cleaning and maintenance of equipment when necessary. Will maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. A working knowledge of all job-related Quality Management System operating procedures and work instructions is required. All safety guidelines must be followed. Wear and maintain all safety equipment and clothing. Understand and apply proper handling of related plating chemicals. Report any and all problems to supervision.
