Job Description

Planer Operator Ensinger, Inc. - Washington, PA 15301 Planer Operator Ensinger processes high performance engineering plastics at our North American headquarters in North Strabane Township. Serving a growing market for engineering plastics, Ensinger combines our processing and extrusion expertise with a deep knowledge of high-performance polymers and applications. We are seeking a Planer Operator for our Finishing Department to support safe and efficient operations at our innovative Ensinger facility. In this role, you'll work alongside a dedicated team to help keep our Finishing Department running smoothly for a global leader in high-performance plastics. Key Responsibilities Work as a team to safely assist with general warehouse tasks Certified on tow motor and reach truck. Able to accurately read and use a tape measure, calipers and micrometers Check calipers against standard and sign off at beginning of each shift Follow assigned schedules Know basic start up procedures (inspect tables, blades and cutting head) Must be able to check plate size and set up cutting height accordingly Know color codes and tolerances Able to identify defects in products Know how to handle paperwork which includes: o Pulling and filing of order packs o Correctly checking every second plate and recording findings on the sizing chart. o Transfer slips. o Finishing reports. o Follow SPECIAL instructions. o Read and understand QQQ paperwork
  • Able to read and follow all instructions on plane-downs and special size requests
  • Able to assist shipping by being able to properly plane-down, transfer and deliver material from information on the manual pick list
  • Able to recognize materials that are to be planed and not planed
  • Able to recognize substandard material and properly record it
  • Able to properly process substandard material.
  • Know proper start up procedures.
OGDEN PLANER
  • Know how to adjust table and cutting head speeds for optimum finish.

  • Know how to adjust air pressures.

  • Be able to judge blade sharpness.

  • Know proper clean up procedures.

  • Able to start up and shut down Fanuc Robot
  • Able to start up and shut Leibinger Printer down
  • Able to assist grinder operator
  • Perform proper clean up at end of shift: o Dispose of shavings. o Sweep area. o Clean machine. o Stack skids. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, advance applicable technical education, a plus
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift 55 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, a plus
