Job Description

Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role oversees the safe and efficient operation of production machinery to consistently deliver high-quality products on schedule. The position includes training and providing general direction to assistant machine operators, assisting in the creation of standard operating procedures and other production documentation, performing inventory data entry, and cross-training into other job functions as needed. Responsibilities Operate production machinery safely and efficiently to produce high-quality products that meet established deadlines. Set up, run, monitor, and adjust reroller and peeler machines to ensure consistent output and minimize downtime. Provide training and general direction to assistant machine operators to ensure they follow procedures and meet production standards. Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures and other production-related documentation to support consistent and safe operations. Perform inventory data entry accurately to maintain up-to-date records of materials and finished goods. Cross-train into other job functions as needed to support team flexibility and maintain production flow. Attend departmental, production, safety, and company meetings on a routine basis and apply the information to daily work. Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures when working on or around machinery to prevent accidents. Support machine troubleshooting and basic machine setup to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. Handle materials and equipment using overhead cranes when required, following all safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area while recognizing that working with rubber manufacturing may result in getting dirty. Work assigned shifts, including occasional Saturday work as needed to meet production demands. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in machine operation, including setup, monitoring, and basic adjustments. Experience operating a sit-down forklift, particularly in a production or warehouse setting. High school diploma or GED. English fluency, including the ability to read, write, and speak English clearly. Proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Comfort working in an environment where you may get dirty while operating machinery. Ability to attend and actively participate in departmental, production, safety, and company meetings. Willingness and ability to work first, second, or third shift as needed, including 1-2 Saturdays per month. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the paper industry is highly valued for this role. Experience with overhead crane operation in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and other industrial safety practices. Experience with machine setup and basic troubleshooting of production equipment. Comfort operating sit-down forklifts in tight or busy production areas. Ability to contribute to and follow standard operating procedures and production documentation. Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory data entry and production recordkeeping. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
