Job Description

Textile Chemist (Printing & Finishing) 7 a.m.
  • 5 p.m. Monday
  • Thursday The possible candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience of Textiles and/or Chemical Manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of preparation processes, dyes, binders, and finishing chemicals.
  • Knowledge of Rotary Screen Printing and Finishing equipment.
  • Understanding of color matching and shade control
  • Knowledge of woven fabrics using Natural and Synthetic fibers
  • Strong knowledge in Mathematics, ratios, and conversions
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Communication and teamwork abilities
  • Communicate/Present with Customers via email, phone and in person
  • Must be self-driven, self-starter, ability to work solo and in teams
  • Must be able to use company provided computer systems Responsibilities
  • Develop, standardize, and optimize formulation for textile printing using VAT and Disperse dyes.
  • Develop new color formulations on Natural and Synthetic fibers
  • Calculate and enter new formulas in Dye Dispense System
  • Measure Infrared Radiation to Near IR, Short Wave IR requirements using spectrophotometer. Review IR data and recommend adjustments.
  • Develop and improve finishing formulas requiring DWR, Wrinkle Resistant, insect repellent, etc.
  • Assist production on making Ager and Finish mixes.
  • Work with Suppliers on new product development and technical support
  • Review incoming raw materials and verify versus COA
  • Troubleshoot variation and implement counter measures
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once Environment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders and platforms
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in hot environments
Pay:
$50,000.00
  • $60,000.
