Position Summary As a Machine Set Up Technician in the Encapsulation Department, you will be responsible for setting up, tearing down, and troubleshooting encapsulation equipment to ensure consistent, high‑quality production. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to SOPs and cGMP standards. Key Responsibilities Set up, tear down, and troubleshoot encapsulation equipment Follow all SOPs, cGMPs, safety standards, and company policies Inspect machine parts for wear, damage, and tolerance issues Perform routine greasing, cleaning, and equipment checks Maintain changeover parts in ready‑to‑use condition Assist Maintenance Technicians with repairs and preventative maintenance Accurately and neatly complete all production documentation Monitor workflow and prioritize tasks based on departmental needs Report equipment issues or abnormalities immediately Maintain tools in clean, working condition Participate in required training and continuous improvement initiatives Support a culture of teamwork, quality, and accountability Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Machine operating or machine setup experience Ability to read and follow SOPs, cGMPs, and written instructions Basic math skills (whole numbers, decimals) Mechanical aptitude with minor troubleshooting capability Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Clear verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Medical or food manufacturing experience Associate degree in a maintenance‑related field Experience identifying fastener types and applying proper torque Ability to recognize bearing or shaft failure Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work an entire 8‑hour (or longer) shift in an enclosed room Ability to safely operate and clean production equipment Medically qualified to wear a half‑mask or full‑air respirator for up to 6 hours Ability to lift up to 50-55 lbs repeatedly Frequent standing, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and ladder climbing Ability to ascend/descend ladders while carrying up to 20 lbs Perform repetitive motions with arms, hands, and wrists Work in moderate noise environments Ability to handle potential allergens (nuts, soy, dairy, fish, shellfish) Employee Benefits & Perks 100% company‑paid medical, dental, and vision insurance Company‑paid short‑ and long‑term disability insurance Company‑paid life insurance 401(k) with employer match up to 4% Gym membership reimbursement Monthly allowance of Thorne supplements Paid time off, volunteer time off, and holiday pay Ongoing training, professional development, and career growth Family‑oriented culture with weekly food trucks Work Environment Climate‑controlled, food‑grade clean manufacturing facility PPE required Safety‑focused, collaborative, and team‑driven culture Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Summerville, SC.
