Operations US-SC-Westminster-2390 Overview Assembles components and parts of various materials to specification following blueprints or work instruction using fixtures and or jigs with the aid of manual and/or power tools; may perform in process tests and completes assemblies to meet expectations around safety and quality working at benches or on shop floor. Safety is a core value at ITT-Westminster. Our department managers/supervisors play a critical role in creating and maintaining a safe workplace for our employees by following all ITT safety policies and procedures and by observing employees to ensure that safety procedures are followed. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of
ITAR. ITAR
defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Responsibilities Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners. Uses manual or powered hand tools or fixtures to assist in assembly Responsible for inspecting and checking parts to detect defects or dimensional discrepancies occurring either prior to or during assembly, and report these and other unusual conditions as directed by Department Supervisor. Records data or completes paperwork. Notifies supervisor of out of tolerance or quality issues. May package or prepare finished goods for warehouse. Keeps work area neat and clean in accordance with 6-S. Wears all appropriate PPE and complies with safety instructions. Completes work timely and to quality and safety expectations. May train other operators on "Standard Products", May perform "water spider" role. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum of 6 months experience in an Assembly manufacturing environment Able to work in a team environment Ability to interpret blueprints and their symbols. Able to use a variety of hand tools Able to operate a personal computer and various software packages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Able to lift between 0 - 15lbs regularly, 16-30lbs frequently and above 30 lbs rarely (with assistance) PI284883876
