LJT TENNESSEE LLC
is seeking a skilled and reliable Tube Mill Auto Saw Operator to operate and maintain automated sawing equipment within our tube mill production line. The Auto Saw Operator is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate cutting of steel tubes to specified lengths, while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Responsibilities:
Operation of Automated Sawing Equipment:
Operate and monitor automated saws, including setting up cutting parameters (length, angle, etc.) according to work orders and specifications.
Material Handling:
Safely load and unload tubes onto the saw infeed and outfeed systems, ensuring proper alignment and preventing damage.
Quality Control:
Inspect cut tubes for dimensional accuracy, burrs, and other defects, using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on the auto saw, including cleaning, and minor adjustments. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Production Efficiency:
Strive to meet production targets and minimize downtime by operating the saw efficiently and effectively.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve minor operational issues with the saw. Escalate more complex problems to maintenance personnel.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with other production team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.

Perform other duties as assigned by the
Production Supervisor or Mill Supervisor Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience operating automated machinery in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a tube mill or metalworking industry. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of automated machinery. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications. Proficiency in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures). Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues. Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety regulations. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Forklift operation experience and certification (preferred but may be trained).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations. Visual acuity to inspect materials and operate equipment.
