Assembly Associate Job Description:
Job Summary:
Assembly Associates at Legend Fitness will work full-time in our manufacturing facility, typically 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. This role focuses on the precise assembly of commercial-grade strength and fitness equipment according to detailed specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. Associates contribute to building high-quality, American-made products that meet rigorous standards for durability, safety, and performance. The position involves hands-on mechanical work, component preparation, quality checks, and collaboration with team members to ensure efficient production and on-time delivery to customers. As a Legend Fitness Assembly Associate, you will help build exceptional strength and fitness equipment while upholding the company's commitment to quality craftsmanship. Assembly Associate Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, assembly instructions, and work orders to assemble fitness and strength equipment components accurately.
  • Assemble parts and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to build complete machines or major components.
  • Position, align, and secure parts using appropriate fasteners, cables, rivets, or other methods to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Perform quality inspections on assembled equipment, test functionality where required, and identify/correct any defects or issues.
  • Prepare and organize parts, materials, and hardware for efficient assembly; sort, count, and stage components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including proper disposal of packaging materials, sweeping, and organization of tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members, rotate through various assembly tasks, and assist in meeting daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Follow all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to continuous improvement of assembly processes.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hoists, or forklifts (as certified) to move heavy components safely.
  • Document work performed, complete production records, and report any material or equipment issues to supervisors.
Assembly Associate Applicant Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing assembly, mechanical assembly, or related fields (fitness equipment or heavy machinery assembly preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills for reading blueprints, using hand/power tools, and troubleshooting assembly issues.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs regularly and maneuver heavy equipment with team support or mechanical aids.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and commitment to safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team while meeting production deadlines.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive, professional attitude.
  • Forklift or material handling certification is a plus but not required (training provided as needed).
