The Position:
A Truss Sawyer converts stock length lumber into ready to assemble sizes for production of finished truss packages.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Safely utilizes basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to directions and adjusts saw for required cuts.
  • Minimizes cuts for maximum efficiency with lumber usage.
  • Coordinate and work with supervisor(s) and team members for timely production of all jobs
  • As a sawyer this individual is responsible for safety, quality, and housekeeping of area
  • Continuous quality control of production through inspections, measurements, checks etc.
  • Inspects work in progress and finished products as needed
  • Analyze and resolve work problems
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. consistently
  • Frequent reaching-extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Consistent use of hands/fingers to handle or feel Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Aptitude in the usage of various production tools including component saws; multi-blade and/or single blade type machines
  • Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • High school diploma or
GED Pay:
From $28.00 per hour
