Position Summary This role is responsible for operating and maintaining product packaging equipment in a nicotine pouch manufacturing environment. The position ensures products are packaged safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. The operator supports production goals while adhering to company safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect, operate, and maintain automated production and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance Troubleshoot equipment or system problems and perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments Calibrate and validate quality testing equipment; perform all testing procedures according to established specifications Conduct visual and functional inspections of finished nicotine pouch products and packaging; identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions Monitor and document package and product quality using analytical and quality control tools Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations Record operational and production data accurately and completely Train new team members on proper operational and safety procedures Notify supervisors and maintenance teams of equipment performance issues to minimize downtime Minimize production scrap and material waste Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment Participate in continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives Demonstrate safety as a core value and reinforce safe work practices with team members Support product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality programs for nicotine pouch manufacturing Maintain product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), preventive controls, product specifications, and quality procedures Monitor and document quality metrics using approved analytical tools Perform other duties as needed to support production and business objectives Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality Required Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing Ability to understand written policies, procedures, specifications, and safety standards Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment Ability to consistently follow safety, quality, and sanitation standards and procedures Ability to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues on packaging equipment Experience conducting quality tests and analyzing production data Ability to train others and evaluate training effectiveness Basic math and measurement skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Mechanical knowledge of automated production and packaging equipment Ability to work variable shifts as needed to support production schedules Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience 2+ years operating manual and automated packaging equipment 1+ year performing quality tests using analytical tools 1+ year working in a regulated manufacturing environment (CPG, food, tobacco, or related industry) Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment failures and make adjustments Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards for consumable or nicotine products Experience with GMP, Preventive Controls, and quality certification frameworks such as BRC or SQF Experience working in highly regulated production environments
