Extrusion Operator

About the Role We are seeking highly skilled PVC Lineal Co-Extrusion Technicians with hands on experience operating, adjusting, and maintaining multilayer PVC extrusion lines. This role is critical to ensuring consistent product quality, efficient line performance, and safe operation in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor PVC coextrusion lines, including primary and secondary extruders.
• Perform die changes and tooling care, calibrator setup, and downstream equipment adjustments.
• Maintain proper melt temperatures, pressures, screw speeds, and layer ratios.
• Troubleshoot line issues such as melt flow inconsistencies, surface defects, dimensional variances, and cooling problems.
• Conduct routine quality checks: dimensions, color, surface finish, and material distribution.
• Complete production documentation, downtime logs, and quality reports.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance and communicate equipment issues with maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and production standards.
• Train or assist in training junior operators as needed. Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience operating PVC extrusion or coextrusion equipment (required).
• Strong understanding of extrusion principles, tooling, and downstream calibration.
• Ability to read production specs, use measuring tools, and follow SOPs.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with extrusion line components.
• Ability to work independently and make real-time process adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work on feet for 100% of 12 hour work shift. Preferred Experience
• Experience with lineal profile extrusion (fencing, railing, decking, siding, windows, etc.).
• Knowledge of PVC formulations, additives, and material handling systems.
• Familiarity with vacuum calibration tables, pullers, saws, and cooling systems.
• Basic PLC or HMI operation experience.
