At JPS Books + Logistics, we enrich lives by producing physical learning materials. Our multigeneration, family-owned business has been a cornerstone of the Dallas-based printing community for over 45 years. Evolving from a small start-up to an at-scale manufacturing plant, we now produce over a million books annually, along with other print-related materials.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are in need of a Bindery operator for our book binding operation. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate for print production. You will be able to learn all bindery equipment with the main focus being book binding equipment. You will play a pivotal role expanding our monthly book capacity and be part of a team that strives for excellence.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Accurately read and understand job tickets
  • Setting up and operating a variety of equipment and machines
  • Ability to prioritize, collaborate, solve problems and communicate
  • Able to complete tasks with minimum supervision
  • Record and monitor progress and provide feedback
  • Preventative maintenance and trouble shooting
  • Quality control
  • Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS NEEDED
  • Knowledge of the print industry or book binding is required
  • Coil and Saddle stitch experience required
  • Basic bindery equipment knowledge a plus
  • Mechanically minded - able to set-up, troubleshoot and maintain equipment
  • Time Management - understand production schedules and due dates
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Results driven and detail oriented
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical ability and stamina sufficient to maintain continuous physical effort throughout shift. This includes frequent lifting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching and twisting. Physical strength and ability sufficient to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Manual labor is defined as exerting force sufficient to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
