Job Description

  • Job Title:
    Machine Operator
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment, with an emphasis on 3-axis and 5-axis routers and CNC mills. You will use tools such as Mastercam and SolidWorks to create and optimize CNC programs, prepare machines for production, load materials, and oversee the machining process to ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Program CNC machines using Mastercam, with a focus on 3-axis and 5-axis routers and CNC mills.
+ Prepare CNC machines for production by setting up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications. + Load materials into machines and monitor operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements. + Oversee the machining process from start to finish, making adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency. + Use SolidWorks models and drawings to support CNC programming and machining operations. + Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to CNC programming, tooling, and machine performance. + Maintain organized and accurate records of programs, setups, and production runs. + Collaborate with a small production team to meet schedules and continuously improve processes.
  • Essential Skills
  • + 3-5 years of CNC programming experience.
+ Proficiency in programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers. + Experience programming and operating CNC mills. + Strong working knowledge of Mastercam for CNC programming. + Ability to interpret and work from SolidWorks models and engineering drawings. + Hands-on experience preparing machines, loading materials, and overseeing CNC production runs. + Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts. + Ability to work effectively in a small production team environment.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience programming both routers and mills in a production environment. + Comfort using CAD/CAM tools alongside Mastercam and SolidWorks. + Strong problem-solving skills for addressing machining and programming issues. + Organizational skills to manage multiple jobs and maintain clear documentation.

  • Work Environment

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing predictable daytime hours. The environment is a hands-on manufacturing setting where safety and professionalism are important, and closed-toe shoes are required as part of the dress code.
