Machine Operator

Overview:

The Machine Operator at AFC Steel, LLC will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring various types of machinery, including laser, plasma, drill table, and beamline machines. You will play a pivotal role in meeting production targets, maintaining product quality, and ensuring a safe work environment. This position reports directly to the Processing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and prepare laser, plasma, drill table, and beamline machines for operation according to production guidelines.
• Monitor machine operations, including laser cutting, plasma cutting, drill table operations, and beamline cutting, to ensure products are being manufactured to quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs when necessary for all machine types.
• Load and unload materials into the machines and make sure they are running smoothly, whether it's the laser, plasma, drill table, or beamline.
• Inspect finished products from all machines to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Complete production reports and maintain accurate records of machine settings, downtime, and production output for laser, plasma, drill table, and beamline machines.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment while operating all machines.
• Perform routine maintenance on all machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
• Work closely with the production team to achieve production targets and deadlines.
• Communicate any issues, malfunctions, or quality concerns to the supervisor for all machine types.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with a focus on laser, plasma, drill table, and beamline operations.
• Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of laser, plasma, drill table, and beamline machinery.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and make minor adjustments for all machine types.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
