Optical Manufacturing - Specialty Machine Operator

Position Overview We are currently seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically proficient Specialty Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating precision optical manufacturing equipment, specifically lens edgers, to produce finished prescription lenses in accordance with established specifications and quality standards. This role requires a strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain optical edging equipment to accurately shape and finish prescription lenses Interpret and execute work orders, lens prescriptions, and technical specifications with precision Inspect completed lenses to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting as required Handle lenses with care to prevent defects, damage, or contamination Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations Candidate Qualifications Prior experience in optical manufacturing or a related precision manufacturing field Hands-on experience operating optical edgers Strong preference for experience with MEI edging systems, particularly EasyFit equipment Working knowledge of lens materials, coatings, and prescription parameters Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform routine maintenance Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality standards and production efficiency Work Environment Manufacturing/production setting Regular interaction with optical machinery and light industrial equipment Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere Why Join Us?
