  • Full-time We are seeking a Beam Saw Operator & Materials Specialist to become the primary owner of our sheet processing operation.
This role is responsible for converting full-sheet acrylic inventory (typically 4' x 8' sheets) into stock and custom-cut products while ensuring safe, efficient material handling and machine operation. Position Summary The Beam Saw Operator & Materials Specialist owns the day-to-day operation of our CNC beam saw and sheet material processing workflow. This role combines machine operation, forklift operation, material staging, custom cutting, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate enjoys working with equipment, takes pride in producing quality work, and has the mechanical aptitude to learn and troubleshoot industrial machinery. This is not simply a machine operator position. The successful candidate will become the primary owner of our beam saw operation and material processing workflow. Responsibilities Beam Saw Operation Operate and monitor our CNC beam saw to produce stock and custom-cut acrylic products Execute daily production priorities established by the Operations Manager Verify dimensions, cut quality, and overall product accuracy Set up jobs and adjust workflows to maximize material utilization Produce stock sheet inventory in support of fulfillment and fabrication operations Assist with custom cutting requests and special projects Material Handling & Staging Operate a forklift safely and efficiently Retrieve full-sheet material from warehouse storage Build and stage cutting pallets for production Move finished materials and remnants to designated locations Maintain organized material flow around the saw and production area Handle sheet goods weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance from equipment and team members as needed Material Utilization Manage reusable remnants and drops Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve material yield Support efficient use of acrylic inventory during stock and custom production runs Make sound decisions regarding common off-cuts and reusable material Equipment Ownership Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks Maintain cleanliness and organization of the saw and surrounding work area Troubleshoot routine machine issues Document and communicate equipment concerns Escalate maintenance issues through established channels when necessary General Warehouse Support Support warehouse operations during peak demand periods Assist with receiving, staging, and material movement as needed Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment Qualifications Required Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, fabrication, production, cabinet shop, sign shop, or similar industrial environment Experience operating forklifts or ability to become forklift certified Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Comfortable learning software-driven equipment and production systems Ability to read measurements accurately and work with attention to detail Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment Preferred CNC equipment experience Beam saw experience Experience working with sheet goods such as plastics, wood products, composites, or metal Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment Inventory or warehouse management system experience What Success Looks Like After six months, the successful candidate will: Independently operate the beam saw Safely manage material staging and movement Execute production priorities with minimal supervision Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting Produce accurate stock and custom-cut products Keep the saw area organized, efficient, and production-ready
