Full Job Description Position Overview:

The Saw Operator is responsible for cutting aluminum and steel materials using auto-feed and CNC saws based on shop drawings and cut lists. This role supports daily production by preparing accurate parts for welding and assembly. You'll need to follow measurements closely, keep your area organized, and work safely in a fast-moving shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and operate auto-feed saws and CNC saw equipment Read and interpret blueprints and work orders Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measure, calipers, and micrometers Perform decimal-to-fraction and metric conversions as needed Understand blade types, feed rates, and speed settings for different metals Load/unload materials and stage cut parts efficiently Perform routine maintenance (oil, grease, replace blades, etc.) Maintain clean, organized work areas and material racks Track inventory of saw blades and consumables Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE Assist with other fabrication or machining tasks as assigned 1+ years of saw operation experience with strong mechanical aptitude Proficient in geometry, basic math, and unit conversions (metric/imperial) Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" (1/32" preferred) Basic CNC knowledge for programming and operating auto-feed saws. Experience with calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement tools Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training a plus) Positive attitude, safety-oriented, and able to work independently or with a team
