Job Overview Join Komatsu's dedicated manufacturing team as a General Assembly I at our Longview, Texas facility, where you will play a critical role in the final assembly of state-of-the-art mining products. Consistently follow and promote workplace safety policies to maintain a secure environment for all team members.Preparation and Planning:
Review assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists thoroughly to organize tasks efficiently and ensure readiness before assembly begins.Component Assembly:
Assemble electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components by accurately interpreting templates and measurements, ensuring precise fitting and secure fastening of parts and subassemblies.Collaboration and Support:
Work under guidance to complete assigned assembly duties, supporting senior team members while progressively expanding your own skills and responsibilities.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on assembly equipment following manufacturer guidelines; identify and report malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.Work Environment Upkeep:
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation, adhering to organizational procedures and safety regulations to promote an efficient and hazard-free assembly area.Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately complete production and quality control documentation to support traceability and continuous improvement efforts.Continuous Learning:
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and safety awareness. Qualifications/Requirements Proficient in basic mathematics and capable of precise measurement using tools such as tape measures. Familiarity with common hand tools and the ability to select and safely utilize the appropriate tool for specific tasks. Competent in reading and interpreting moderate complexity blueprints and technical diagrams. Strong ability to follow detailed assembly instructions and replicate specific procedures accurately. Develop keen attention to detail alongside problem-solving capabilities to identify and address assembly challenges. Effective team player with good communication skills, contributing to a cooperative and productive work environment. Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including frequent lifting of weights ranging from 11 to 50 pounds and standing for the majority of the shift. Commitment to workplace policies by successfully passing pre-employment background checks, physical examinations, and drug screenings. Candidates must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as operational needs arise and must be able to work the 2nd shift schedule. Adaptability and reliability in shift work are essential to support continuous production goals.
