In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques to ensure optimal finish quality on a variety of industrial components. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of cleanliness, surface preparation, and coating adherence, contributing to the production of durable, high-quality products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced tools and machinery in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Duties Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal rods. Use hand tools and power tools to assist with surface preparation, material handling, and minor fabrication tasks. Set up and adjust blast nozzles, and abrasive media to achieve desired surface textures. Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure surface quality meets specifications. Maintain a clean work area by properly disposing of abrasive media and debris, adhering to safety protocols. Follow safety guidelines related to crane operation, forklift handling, and industrial painting techniques to prevent accidents. Assist other machine operators as needed. Qualifications Prior experience in sandblasting is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity in sand blasting enhances performance in this role. Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of materials handling procedures and use of precision measuring instruments is essential. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks are required. Experience with lean manufacturing principles helps improve efficiency and reduce waste. Warehouse experience or familiarity with industrial techniques is a plus. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
