Machine Operator (Day Shift)

• Mount Pleasant Is one of six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America.

This will be a multi-machine role that includes the twist machine, respool, and taping operations. The Twist Operator is responsible for the setting-up and operation of the twisters to combine component sub-assemblies into a twisted cable with the addition of tape(s) as required. Day shifts are typically Mon-Thur 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Essential Duties:

Strive to achieve continuous improvement in all activities, processes, and with all projects at Dekoron. Understanding of safety practices, and the ability to perform quality work without supervision.. Load/unload reels of insulated or bare wire, using electric hoist as required into proper payoff positions. String components through bows and machine Load/unload tapes onto taping heads and string-up Set-up equipment with proper gear ratio, tension, etc. Operate machines and auxiliary equipment to perform function Coordinate operation of two twisting process/lines Clean, oil, and maintain rollers/guides in machine Maintain manufacturing control system paperwork (line logs, move tickets, etc.) Unload finished products and check continuity Inspect product/samples for quality acceptance and maintain logs, SPC forms, etc. Obeys all safety rules and company policies Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department housekeeping Report unusual conditions, defective material, or equipment to a supervisor Help to maintain inventory where applicable Ability to follow correct procedures for Kanban of insulated wire, bare drain wire, and shielding tapes Communicate with other shift operators as to schedule and/or problems Assist in training new employees Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Preferred:

High School diploma or equivalent, required Technical training, preferred Licenses or certifications are not required for this position Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred, but not required
