EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: High School Diploma or Equivalent One year of experience in operating: high speed digital printers, plotters wide format flatbed printer, cutter, and bindery machinery to create booklets, banners, posters, stickers and signage on various materials. Experience with various printing software, including RIP's, Roland Versa Works, Raster Links, Oce Prisma Prepare, Fiery Command Workstation, and Onyx. High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
: Responsible for processing all daily print orders, plan and schedule accordingly to meet deadlines, operate high speed digital printers, plotters and bindery machinery to create booklets, banners, posters, stickers and signage on various materials.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operates various types of high speed digital printers, plotters and other finishing bindery equipment; guillotine cutter and three hole punch. 2. Converts digital files of various types to produce a high-quality finished product. 3. Scans documents for formatting, printing and storing files. 4. Receives and processes printing requests in a timely manner, schedules individual jobs, and identifies equipment to be used based on size and complexity to meet deadlines. 5. Creates and sets up workflows using Fiery Command Workstation or other RIP software. 6. Produces printed products according to customer specifications. 7. Sorts and packages printed materials for distribution to all District locations. 8. Meets with customers to plan/optimize various print jobs. 9. Assists with training campus Key Operators. 10. Submits work orders to perform preventive maintenance or repairs, maintains a printer downtime log and meter readings. 11. Performs minor PM's, and trouble shoots copier to clear paper path jams. 12. Generates monthly print reports for management. 13. Maintains confidentiality of information to include all jobs processed through Print Services. 14. Reports to work on time every day. 15. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Successful completion of a pre employment physical examination to include vision, hearing, alcohol and drug testing
  • Working knowledge of high end production printers such as Konica Minolta, Oce's, Sharps
  • Basic understanding of design and layouts
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able and willing to drive an oversized delivery truck to deliver/pickup District mail, printing jobs, and supplies
  • Valid Texas Driver's license with a driving record that meets the requirements of the district ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ While all applications will be reviewed, not all applicants will be interviewed.
