This will start out as a Temporary position --> full time after probationary period. Job Overview The HLU Operator prepares laminates (Fiberplate, Treadcovers, etc) and operates equipment and materials associated with the hand layup area process . Responsibilities Position requires the ability to count, measure, mix and weigh accurately of resins and catalysts. Position requires heavy lifting on a daily basis of 50 pounds and up to 100 lbs. Position requires quality, safety and service-oriented individuals. Requires learning/knowledge of hazardous material handling. Preparation of molding equipment and materials for daily operations. Responsible for preparing reinforcing medium and resin for
HLU. A HLU
Operator loads reinforcing medium and resin or premix charges of prescribed amounts onto molding equipment and carries out prescribed molding cycles. He/She makes minor adjustments to equipment, charge and/or cycle to obtain a quality product. The HLU Operator then unloads the part from the HLU table/mold, ensuring the part meets quality standards. This position must learn and understand Fibergrate mixes and material identification. Perform proper housekeeping within his/her designated area on a daily basis. Position requires proper and safe handling of power tools (worm drive saw, drill mixer) when needed. Requirements Proven experience in manufacturing environments with hands-on work involving hand tools and composite materials. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance tasks. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery safely; certification preferred. Strong understanding of packaging procedures and quality control processes. Basic math skills for measuring materials accurately and maintaining production records. Warehouse experience with familiarity in inventory management and material handling procedures. Knowledge of CGMP standards to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
Effective verbal and written communications in English preferred. Basic reading and writing competencies in English preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and manuals. Ability to organize and manage time effectively. Possess the ability to utilize the training provided to make sound and safe judgements. Basic arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, stand, and climb stairs for 8-12-hour shifts. Must be able to use hand trucks and carts to push and pull loads > 100 lbs. Must have ability to lift and carry loads ≥ 50 lbs. Must have ability to safely mount and dismount forklifts. Position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to use hand/power tools and fasten items.
Work Environment:
Usually in an indoor environment but with regular exposure to outdoor environments such as dust, summer temperatures, winter temperatures, and periodic foul weather. Stair usage, ladder usage and uneven surfaces should be expected. Learn more about Fibergrate at www.fibergrate.com
