About the Role As a Plastics Extrusion Technician, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operations by ensuring that production lines run at peak efficiency and quality standards. You will utilize your technical expertise to monitor machinery, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and drive continuous improvement in our production output. Responsibilities Operate extrusion machinery to meet or exceed established production targets for quality, waste reduction, and equipment utilization. Proactively identify and resolve mechanical malfunctions through precise equipment adjustments and innovative problem-solving. Perform rigorous quality inspections to detect defects, applying corrective measures to maintain product integrity. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster a collaborative and skilled production environment. Maintain accurate production documentation, including shift logs, machine downtime, and output metrics. Uphold a culture of safety and operational excellence by strictly adhering to standard work procedures and housekeeping protocols. Qualifications Required Skills Proven experience operating industrial extrusion equipment or similar manufacturing machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment. Proficiency in basic mathematics and analytical thinking for production measurement and reporting. Effective verbal and written communication skills for team coordination and record-keeping. Ability to utilize precision measurement tools to verify product quality against established standards. Comfortable wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) in a fast-paced industrial setting. Preferred Skills Prior experience in a setup operator or lead technician capacity. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies. Advanced knowledge of plastic resin properties and extrusion process parameters.
