Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Night Shift:
from 6:00 PM to 6:00AM. The Machine Operator -Form Fill Seal (FFS) is a key member of the Mechanical Operations Team responsible for the setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of automated powder packaging equipment. This position supports the efficient and accurate filling of nutritional powder products in accordance with company quality, safety, and GMP standards. Operators are expected to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure consistent product output and equipment reliability across production lines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain Form Fill Seal (FFS) machine used to package Nutraceuticals Supplements for HMC, Bartel and SolPac Machines.
  • Set up machines for scheduled production runs, including mechanical adjustments and calibration.
  • Perform changeovers between product types, packaging formats, and batch sizes.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical or operational issues to maintain continuous production flow.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for more complex mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Conduct visual and weight-based quality checks for fill accuracy, seal integrity, and product coding.

  • Record production data, downtime, and equipment adjustments accurately in batch and production logs.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks, clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, and line cleaning during changeovers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support training of new operators and promote teamwork and communication within the production area.
  • Production environment with exposure to airborne powders, moderate noise, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, hairnets, and safety eyewear.
  • Frequent interaction with team members across production, maintenance, and quality control departments.
  • Supports all food safety and quality systems requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer, certifying body, GFSI, and company requirements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience with multi-lane or vertical/horizontal FFS systems.
  • Familiarity with auger fillers, powder-handling systems, and automated weighing/sealing equipment.
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and FDA food manufacturing standards.
  • Basic understanding of machine parts terminology and functions, General Pneumatics, working with Hand tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 1-3 years of experience in machine operation or maintenance. Preferred experience in food, supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of automated packaging or Form Fill Seal (FFS) equipment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to speak, read and follow production schedules, Machine Documentation, SOPs, and safety procedures in English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime or weekends, as required by production needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bending, lifting, and handling materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to perform machine adjustments and maintenance tasks.
  • Closed toed Shoes, Clean Hygiene, Professional Attire and NO holes, rips or tears.
