Location:
Cedar City, UT (In‑person) Job Overview The Packaging Machine Operator role at GOEX is a hands‑on production position where you work as part of the extrusion team to package finished product and prepare it for shipment, while also providing essential support to the Technician during line operation. You'll rotate between operating packaging equipment, inspecting products for quality, assisting with line startups and changeovers, and organizing finished goods for outbound shipping. This is not just a packing job — Packaging Operators play a key role in line performance, product quality, and production flow. You'll help the Technician get the line up and running, support adjustments during production, and ensure rolls or sheets meet all specifications before they leave the line. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. GOEX provides hands‑on training, so if you enjoy active work, learning equipment, and contributing to a smooth production process, you'll fit well in this position. Responsibilities Packaging equipment operation — Operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure finished product meets quality and production standards Product handling & shipping prep — Stack, cut, label, wrap, and palletize finished rolls or sheets; prepare packaged product for shipment Quality inspection — Inspect product for defects, verify measurements, and ensure finished goods meet QA specifications Line startup & changeover support — Assist the Technician with getting the line up and running, performing roll changes, cleanouts, and changeovers Documentation — Complete production, traceability, and shift paperwork accurately Material prep — Prepare packaging materials and supplies for upcoming production runs Line organization — Maintain a clean, organized work area to reduce scrap and downtime Material movement — Support material handling and movement of finished goods Safety compliance — Follow all PPE, GMP, food safety, and safety protocols Cross‑training — Learn additional production functions to support the Technician and overall line performance Other duties — Perform additional tasks as needed to support production goals Qualifications Mechanical aptitude — Strong mechanical reasoning with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred (packaging or line‑support experience a plus) High school diploma or GED Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume production environment with frequent task changes Lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs with assistance), stand for long periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks Strong attention to detail, organizational and quality‑focused mindset Forklift experiencepreferred; training is available Consistent attendance and ability to work a rotating 12‑hour schedule Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and by yourself Must pass background check and drug screening Physical & Environmental Requirements Stand and walk for most of the shift Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; assist with loads up to 100 lbs Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and occasional climbing (up to 20 ft) Firm hand grasping and equipment handling required Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving machinery Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Why Join GOEX?
