Monday - Thursday 2:30pm to 12:30am Role Summary The CNC Machine Technician Level 1 supports production by safely operating CNC machines that have been set up by senior machinists. This entry-level position focuses on learning machine operation, performing quality checks, and building foundational machining skills in a structured manufacturing environment. This role is the first step in a machinist career path, with opportunities to advance into machine setup and programming roles through training and demonstrated performance. Key Responsibilities Daily reports to work on time as scheduled prepared fill assigned tasks for the entire shift Operate CNC machines according to established setups, work instructions, and travelers Load and unload raw materials and finished parts Perform basic deburring and safe part handling Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges Report and record measured results Verify parts meet drawing specifications and report discrepancies Monitor tool wear, spindle load, coolant levels, and chip evacuation Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures Communicate issues or concerns to the
Set-Up Technician or Lead Machinist Note:
This position does not perform machine setups or program changes but will train toward these skills over time. Qualifications Required Basic mechanical aptitude Ability to read simple part prints and follow written instructions Willingness to learn and take direction Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Preferred (Not Required) Prior manufacturing or shop experience Basic familiarity with measuring tools Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout shift Regular lifting of parts and materials (up to 75 lbs) Exposure to machine noise, metal chips, and coolant Required use of personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection Success Indicators Consistently operates machines safely and follows procedures Produces parts within tolerance with minimal scrap or rework Accurately performs inspections and documents results Maintains clean and organized workspace Demonstrates steady skill development and readiness for additional training
