SLC JOB SUMMARY
: The goal of the Compounding Technician position at Sensapure is to successfully complete day-to-day operations in liquid compounding of Sensapure's manufactured flavors. Sensapure works primarily on protein beverages, powders, and energy drinks. In this unique position, you will assist in weighing and compounding and managing raw material inventory.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
: Accurately weigh, measure, and blend raw materials (including liquids, powders, essential oils, and extracts) following precise batch sheets and production formulas. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational. Assist with inventory management, including staging materials, monitoring stock levels, and reporting shortages. Maintain detailed records of batches, including lot numbers, ingredient codes, weights, and production data. Clean and sanitize equipment, work areas, and tools in accordance with sanitation procedures and GMP standards. Perform assigned tasks according to food safety policies outlined by SQF, HACCP, and SOP documents. Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to hazard communication standards. Control the cost of batches by eliminating scrap and waste. Other duties and functions may be assigned.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or coursework in food science, chemistry, or a related field preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience in batch manufacturing, compounding, or production, preferably in the food, beverage, flavor, or chemical industry.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, and food safety standards. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow written instructions accurately. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory systems. Forklift certification or experience is a plus. Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to shifting production priorities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly exposed to food-grade aromas, fumes, and airborne particles. Work involves standing, bending, reaching, and manual handling of materials. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, or overtime as production demands require.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position frequently requires the use of hands, hearing/listening, talking, standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling/squatting, reaching overhead, pulling/pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
