Job Description
OBJECTIVE
To be responsible for utilizing veneer stone produced within the plant that meets or exceeds company standards as they relate to mix design and raw materials usage to produce accurate profile sample in comparison to master display boards.Assembly:
Stones are to be pulled from production partial boxes that are left from the conveyor or hybrid line and then inspected over at the sample department. Samples will be approved or rejected by samples technician, supervisor, or manager. Stone shall be laid out and compared to the master control board for color, recipe adherence, and defects. Stone that meets or exceeds quality standards shall be assembled onto various samples (pizza boxes, motor boards, carry boards) and checked again for defects and excessive gaps Once the samples are laid out and double checked for quality, the samples will be labeled, boxed or mortared accordingly per instructions Samples will be stores and organized on the racking by the name of the profile.Drying Selected Stone:
Stones are to be air dry or under heat lamps depending on the ambient temperature and how wet the stone is, determines the length of drying. Keep in mind that this is done in order to perform processes from above. Utilize your samples master board to compare for color, and percentage of color. Once it is determined that the stone is passed on the color and you build your sample boards, take any leftover stone that needs to be repacked over to the stage area for all sample partials. Keep a log of any sample partials in order to have a up-to-date inventory for future samples.Gluing Stone:
Once the stones are dried sufficiently to management's discretion, it is then verified for quality against the master control board. Each stone is then individually glued using subfloor adhesive onto gray sample boards. This is similar to the initial arrangement on chipboard, monitoring for neatness, excessive gaps, and broken stone. Profile identification stickers shall be neatly placed in appropriate box on gray sample boards. All sample grooming (excess glue, loose aggregate, etc.) will be completed prior to being placed in the racks. Each gray sample board containing glued stone is placed in the drying racks no less than 48 hours to allow the glue to set up.Packaging:
The completed boards are placed in its assigned storage packaging material. Boards that have been boxes are stored in the racks that are assigned per the type of sample.NOTE:
some sample boards require specialized grouping and will be communicated at the direction of the supervisor or manager. Boards are received and transferred by the supervisor to inventory stock until needed for warehouse allocation.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
Quality minded and demonstrates traits of honesty, integrity, leadership, and ability to maintain confidential information. This a skilled position, it is mandatory for employee to learn production procedures, display decision making skills, demonstrate knowledge regarding color, and identify stone which does not meet company wide standards. Skilled in recognizing sample boards which meet department standards for quality. Must be able to read, write, and communicate with technicians, managers, office personal, and forklift operators. Ability to follow through on set procedures in a manufacturing environment.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Other duties as assigned in an ever changing and improving facility. Ensure work area is thoroughly cleaned during/after all steps of sample board production. General housekeeping to keep work area clean and safe. Ability to produce and maintain inventory. Ensure that the product is fit for shipping and properly labeled.PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment including noise and dust. Must tolerate working environment with high curing temperatures, outside temperatures and inside ambient temperatures. Exposure to chemicals found in pigments.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to remain upright with constant movement and lifting for extended periods of time. Job function requires near/far/depth/color vision. Ability to push/pull stone/molds for removal. Ability to maintain repetitive motion for up to eight hours per day.Pay:
