Roanoke, VA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Relocation assistance Qualifications Computer operation Machine operation Writing skills High school diploma or GED Time management Full Job Description Position Summary Produces high-quality, value-added printed material according to job specifications; sets up and operates gluer and auxiliary equipment; achieves and maintains gluing/adhesion and consistency as per customer specifications; reports results; maintains supplies inventories; maintains equipment; trains and develops machine operator crews. Responsibilities Execute the daily shift production schedule Coordinate, train and develop glue machine crew. Assign responsibilities and secure compliance to safe work practices, housekeeping, GMP, and quality procedures Document daily performance and report production results Read job order and specifications Determine materials required to meet order requirements Organize job sequence on machine (have next job pulled and ready to start MR) Retrieve glue materials (WIP/TACS etc.) Make-ready the machine, using M/R stock when available Achieve and maintain glue and adhesion in accordance with process and quality specifications Inspect final product to verify quality and process control. Take appropriate action to correct process and/or quality deviations Troubleshoot machine stoppages and downtime. Conducting periodic maintenance checks, assist maintenance personnel in machine repairs if needed Maintain clean and organized work area Return excess consumables and materials to their designated storage area Complies with safety rules and regulations Other duties as assigned by
Finishing Manager Skills & Abilities:
Read, write, record and communicate data/information Time management and follow-through skills Problem analysis (troubleshooting) Team building, team member, coach/develop Computer literacy Excellent English, written, oral communication skills Good color vision
Experience:
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent 5 years in a sheet fed lithography/folding carton operation 3 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment Track record of improvement in quality and efficiency
Equipment:
Use pallet jack if required Bobst, Alpina, Jagenberg, International gluers
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand or walk during 8+ hour shift The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and bend and stoop Able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds infrequently Use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms frequently Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to focus frequently
