Job Overview:
The Dryer Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the dryers to ensure quality product output in accordance with company specifications and production goals. This role includes maintaining proper moisture control, monitoring equipment, performing clean-up duties, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate dryers safely and efficiently to achieve maximum capacity and meet daily production targets.
  • Ensure product quality meets specified moisture content and other established standards.
  • Monitor dryer temperatures and adjust controls as needed to maintain proper moisture levels.
  • Perform sampling and accurately record data in the production file for tracking and quality control purposes.
  • Clean the workspace regularly and ensure the dryer area is free of debris.
  • Perform safe cleaning of augers as needed, following all proper procedures.
  • Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) protocols during maintenance or cleaning of equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain output building to prevent clogs or backups in product flow.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to the Manager, Dryer Operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing or processing environment preferred. Ability to monitor and operate mechanical equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Knowledge of safety regulations, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Ability to work in hot, dusty, or loud environments and lift up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
