Full Job Description Summary:
The Part Mark Clerk is responsible for applying identification markings, serial numbers, part numbers, and other required information to aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. This position ensures traceability and compliance throughout the manufacturing process while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and workmanship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Verify part identification and traceability information prior to marking
  • Apply part numbers, serial numbers, lot numbers, and other identification markings to aerospace components using approved marking methods, including laser marking, dot peen, vibro-etch, stamping, ink marking, or labeling.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure proper marking location, size, content, and method.
  • Maintain records and documentation associated with part marking and traceability requirements
  • Handle parts with care to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Report discrepancies, nonconformances, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and process control.
  • Issue materials to work orders
  • Cross train and assist in Shipping as needed to ensure overall success of the Shipping Department including: o Package parts for storage o Package parts for shipment to customers and suppliers on pallets, crates, or boxes o Create shipping documents such as pack slips and certifications of conformance o Create/print shipping labels o Maintain accurate inventory counts o Operate equipment in a safe manner o Complete various projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, quality inspection, or part marking preferred
  • Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing documentation systems.
  • Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be an effective team member and have the ability to read and write in English
  • Proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of aerospace traceability and identification requirements.
Familiarity with marking methods and associated equipment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires standing more than 2/3 of the time
  • Requires lifting up to 50 lbs
Work Environment:
Work will be performed in the manufacturing area of the facility which may require use of safety glasses and hearing protection. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, noise, odors, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. may also be encountered when in the manufacturing areas to varying degrees. We are an ITAR secure facility and require citizenship verification to enter the manufacturing facility.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
