Responsibilities:

As the packaging machine operator, you will be responsible for packaging all of Caffè Umbria's coffee products according to designated packaging & quality standards.

Duties include:

Operating packaging machines to package coffee in the appropriate packaging material. Troubleshooting the packaging machine Running quality control checks to ensure seal integrity. Utilizing an oxygen analyzer to check for ideal oxygen levels. Keeping inventory counts of green coffee and packaged coffee, and communicating this information to the roasting team. Assist roasting team with loading green coffee silos. Unloading and palletizing bags of green coffee from shipping containers. Grinding coffee to specifications as needed. Work with the team to keep the roastery clean and organized. Maintaining and managing workflows, standard operating procedures, and company policies. Bringing a positive and supportive attitude to work. Having fun, drinking great coffee, and making wonderful connections along the way.

Qualifications:

At Caffè Umbria we look for people who possess strong leadership skills, have a desire to learn, have a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional qualifications include:

1+ years experience operating production machinery preferred. Forklift certification preferred. High school diploma required. Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities directly relating to operating packaging equipment. Basic math skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50lbs on a repetitive basis and up to 75lb or more. Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to successfully pass background check. The ideal candidate is also able to multi-task, loves to maintain a clean working environment, is mechanically inclined, and has reliable transportation.
